Creedmoor, TX Real Estate

Some say the town was called Willow Springs whiles others claim it was Creekmore; either way the community was thriving with a drugstore and barbershop, a blacksmith shop and an ice cream parlor, a general store, a grocery store and a meat market. The name of Creedmoor was not attached to the town until the inception of the post office in the 1880s. During the late 1880s and into the 1900s the town slowly grew as more people and businesses came to Creedmore. Dr Jacob T Wilhite, foremost rabies authority and Pastuer Institute at Austin State Hospital founder and director was born in Creedmore. In 1982 Creedmoor became the 9th community to incorporate, avoiding annexation by Austin.

Today Creedmoor is a thriving small community 15 miles southeast of Austin with a growing population of almost 7000 friendly residents. The area has experienced recent strong growth and the population has increased by over 40% since the census in 2000. The median home price in Creedmoor is just over $217,000. The town of Creedmore has a variety of home choices including a selection of homes built from the 1930s.

The community had a steady but small increase of homes each year until 2000 when new communities and homes surged and the area is now more prosperous than ever. Though most of Creedmore has a rural feel with homes situated on large lots, some newer communities are offering more intimate neighborhood settings with traditional residential sized lots along family friendly streets. Area amenities are scattered, with local shopping, services and dining nearby and residents enjoy the hometown atmosphere of the area. Many working age residents of Creedmoor commute to Austin for employment and the drive is minimal despite rush hour traffic.

Del Valle Independent School District provides education to the children of Creedmoor. The district is well known for academic achievement and is continually striving to improve the learning atmosphere of its schools. The district has 10 campuses that provide education to a growing student population. Students receive a well rounded education where academic achievement is only part of the equation. Del Valle ISD includes other components such as sports and extracurricular activities to help broaden a child's mind and spirit. This formula is producing happy healthy and successful students.
